Overview: The purpose of this program is to provide support for nonprofit poetry and literary organizations, which include presses and publications, led and staffed by Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC). This program is intended to honor the legacy of past BIPOC poets and make space for living and future poets.
The following types of support are available through this program:
General operating support: Applicants must be a BIPOC-led poetry nonprofit organization or a BIPOC-led literary arts organization with a significant focus on poetry to be eligible for general operating support.
Program support: Applicants that do not meet the qualifications for general operating support must apply for program support. Nonprofit organizations with multiple types of poetry programs may include a request for support for multiple programs in their application.
